2025 Oakland County Parks Active Adults Events

Oakland County Parks offers many programs for Active Adults throughout the year that focus on fitness, wellness, historical education, and fun in the parks.

  • Fireside Chats, Hosted by Oakland County Parks Historian Carol Bacak-Egbo. Free historical programs held from 7-8 p.m. via Zoom 9/25, 10/21, and 11/19. Visit Oakland County Parks Events for more information.
  • Cruisin' on Crooked Lake, hourly rides from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20 at the Independence Oaks County Park Boathouse. Join us while we cruise around Crooked Lake enjoying the sights and sounds of summer during a 45-minute pontoon boat ride. Registration opens May 9. Cost $5/person (Limited to 10 guests per trip).   • Adult Only Archery Shoot, 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 at Independence Oaks County Park's Archery Range. Learn archery basics and perfect shooting techniques. Cost: $15/person.   • Holly, History and Harmony, 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 at Addison Oaks County Park. Enjoy an elegant buffet prepared by Oaks Management at the Buhl Estate. Learn about the history of Addison Oaks, then listen to seasonal music from the Twelfth Night Singers. Cost: $45/person. Preregistration required. Registration opens Sept. 22.
