Alan Jaros is a leader specializing in farm-based education. His work focuses on leading teams to connect youths, adults, and communities to food and agriculture through outdoor learning environments.

Jaros leads numerous initiatives for local schools with a particular expertise in farm-based and outdoor education and youth development.

As the Director of the Bowers School Farm, operated by Bloomfield Hills Schools, Jaros has led the expansion of the educational facility since 2016. With nearly 40,000 visitors annually, the Bowers Farm is a learning center for agriculture and the environment with youths and adults exploriong food production through events, school field trips, and community programs.

Jaros also served as the founding Education Director for Michigan State University's Tollgate Farm and Education Center, developing partnerships, fundraising through grant writing, and establishing a program team that reached nearly 30,000 visitors annually. During his time at MSU, Jaros was awarded the John A. Hannah Partnership Award in 2018, the Meritorious Service award for program excellence in 2014, and the MAE4-HYS Curriculum Design of Excellence Team Award in 2013.

Jaros serves on the Preservation Bloomfield and the Friends of Bowers Farm Board of Directors. He is also the past President for the Detroit Association for Talent Development.

He holds a master's degree in Management from Walsh College and a bachelor's degree in Human Resource Development from the College of Education at Oakland University. Jaros is a resident of West Bloomfield.
