Kristen Nelson is a board certified behavioral analyst at the Spark Center for Autism in Farmington after working in special education since she was 18.

She began her career as a special education paraprofessional in the West Bloomfield School district and moved to the Farmington School District at the age of 22, where she was an elementary school autism spectrum disorder teacher, receiving the Golden Apple award from the district.

With a Master's degree in education from Wayne State University, Nelson also has completed the Teacher Leadership Initiative Capstone Project.

Nelson was elected as a member of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners in 2018 and was reelected in 2020. She is a Waterford resident.
