Ad hoc committees and task forces are formed by commissioners to respond to emerging county or regional challenges. Commissioners may form either through a resolution, or the Board Chair may form an ad hoc committee through a communication to the Board.

Both offer the opportunity for commissioners to explore issues more closely and find solutions for residents. Ad hoc committees and task forces may expire when their leadership submits a final report or at the end of each Board term, whichever occurs first. Either can also be reinstated if the Board would like to continue its work in that area.
