What is a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)?
A Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is a flexible, formula-based funding program provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to keep communities sound, attractive, and economically viable.
Does Oakland County receive CDBG funding?
Yes. Oakland County provides federal CDBG funding to communities for revitalization projects. The program strengthens neighborhoods by supporting local revitalization, home improvement and public services for senior citizens, low income persons and families, disadvantaged youth, and disabled residents throughout most of Oakland County.

How much CDBG does a qualified area receive?
Participating communities receive a formula share of funds for eligible activities that best meet community needs.
Can a citizen be involved in their community CDBG plans?
