Oakland County Parks is focused on environmental leadership, action and practice in the community. Staff is available as a resource for local governments and the public to advise in their areas of expertise and assist homeowners, municipal employees, non-profit organizations and educational institutions in implementation of best practices.

Our community engagement efforts include:

Early Childhood Hour Out (ECHO)

Parents, grandparents, nannies and caregivers: Bring your little ones to the nature center for a caregiver-guided hour of activities, fun and friendship with local families.

  • Participate in a caregiver-led activity provided by nature center staff
  • Enjoy coffee, tea and conversation with other caregivers
  • Strengthen community connections –conversation for adults; social interaction for babies, toddlers and young children
  • Optional activities may take place outside, dress for the weather

This program is free and no preregistration is necessary. Park entry is free for Oakland County residents. Caregivers must supervise children at all times. Siblings are welcome.
