Right-of-Way Management
Many construction projects require an easement or right-of-way agreement to allow construction, operation, maintenance, repair or replacement of WRC systems. WRC staff work with individual property owners to develop acceptable terms for the easements necessary to construct storm drainage systems, sanitary sewer systems, lake level control structures and water supply systems.
An easement is the nonpossessory right to use and/or enter another person's land for a specified purpose. Typically, the acquired rights involve a specific portion of the property. A right-of-way is a type of easement that gives someone the legal right to travel across property owned by another person.
